What is a Christmas stocking?

A Christmas stocking is a sock or sock-shaped bag which is hung on Christmas Eve

so that Santa Claus can fill it in with small Christmas gift.

I’ve never had one before. And today I got my first Christmas stocking!

A little something makes our living room Christmassy.
