Day 236. Tempo Run

Today’s marathon training was what’s called a ‘tempo run.’ Tempo runs are is the an excellent way for runner to build speed and strength while long distance running.

Basically, you run at the a steady effort level, usually a little slower than your 10k race speed. I generally like running but I really hate increasing speed. It was only twenty minutes, a part of today’s fourmiles run, but the tempo run completely exhausted me.
