I know this is silly, but for me it’s big progress. Today, for the first time in three months, I raised my hand and talked twice in one class! 😀 (I did talk before, but not twice in one class)
First, it was my answer to the professor’s question, and the second time was a question to the professor.
I’m sure talking in the class must not be a big deal to American students and even to most internationals. But for me, it was always a challenge. When I was a student in Korea, raising a hand to ask a question in class while a teacher was giving a lecture was considered to be a disturbance and slowing down the class. Because of that influence and also the language barrier, most Korean students are quite in the class.
Therefore, talking in the class has been a big challenge and now it’s a big accomplishment for me!

Congratulations on being brave! It takes time to speak up the first time, but you’ll get used to it. Just don’t get too used to it, you will start playing Bullshit Bingo (http://cavegirlmba.com/bschool/survival-bullshit-bingo/)
Congratulations. Good for you! You did it, be proud.
